Continuing Eli Whitney students enrolled at Yale College can view a personalized checklist of requirements in Yale Hub.

Review the checklist regularly as new required documents may be added during the review process.

Common Checklist Requirements For:

Priority Deadlines, 2026-27 Academic Year

Eli Whitney Applicants and Continuing Students: April 1, 2026

Applicants and continuing students who miss the deadline are still eligible to apply for financial aid, and offers will not be reduced because of late submission.

Important Note about Eli Whitney Students Program

Yale assesses financial need for all Eli Whitney students independent of their parents. When completing the CSS profile, Eli Whitney applicants may include minimal parent information or input “zeros” to bypass parent sections. Note that other institutions receiving your CSS Profile may require parent information. 

Requirements for Eli Whitney Students Program Applicants With U.S. Citizenship or Who Are U.S. Permanent Residents

 The following requirements may be included on your financial aid checklist depending on your circumstances: 

  • CSS Profile (Yale College’s Code: 3987) 
  • FAFSA (Yale College’s Code: 001426)
  • Student Tax Returns (Form 1040)
    • Include all corresponding Schedules (1, 2, 3, A, B, C, D, E, F)
    • If no federal tax return was filed, Student Non-Tax Filer’s Statement
  • Student W-2(s)
  • Spousal Requirements, if applicable

Applicants will submit documentation to IDOC  after completing the CSS profile. 

Requirements for Eli Whitney Students Program Applicants With International Citizenship (Including Canadians)

  • CSS Profile (Yale College’s Code: 3987)
  • Student Income Documentation
    • If a tax return was filed, submit all applicable tax documentation. 
      • If tax returns are not in English, please provide an English translation. The translation may be unofficial, and figures do not need to be converted to U.S. dollars.
    • If a tax return was not filed,  submit documentation of income, such as a letter from your employer.
  • Spousal Requirements, if applicable

Applicants will submit documentation to IDOC after completing the CSS profile. 

Important Information for International Citizens (Including Canadians)

International citizens are not required to submit a new financial aid application after their first year. However, they may choose to submit a new financial aid application to have their aid eligibility reevaluated in light of changes to their financial circumstances. To request a reevaluation, students should submit the requirements above by the priority deadline.

 The following requirements may be included on your financial aid checklist depending on your circumstances: 

  • FAFSA (Yale College’s Code: 001426)
  • Student Tax Returns (Form 1040)
    • Include all corresponding Schedules (1, 2, 3, A, B, C, D, E, F)
    • If no federal tax return was filed, Student Non-Tax Filer’s Statement
  • Student W-2(s)
  • Verification of Student Assets (available in YaleHub)
  • Spousal Requirements, if applicable
