Yale does not award merit-based scholarships, but many Yale students are recognized for their achievements by outside organizations. We encourage students to pursue outside merit-based awards, which can significantly reduce or eliminate the Student Share.

Some scholarship agencies require verification that you are enrolled at Yale before they will release your award funds. Agency representatives can usually verify enrollment by checking the National Student Clearinghouse website. Questions about enrollment verification may be directed to the University Registrar’s Office.
