Yale's need-based financial aid policy, which meets the full demonstrated financial need of all students, ensures that a Yale education is affordable for everyone. Making fee waivers easy is one example of Yale's commitment to being accessible to students from all backgrounds.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents
College Board offers automatic CSS Profile fee waivers for first-year U.S. applicants from families with low incomes. Students find out if they qualify for an automatic fee waiver as part of the online payment process. If you are allowed to submit your CSS Profile without entering credit card information, you have qualified for an automatic waiver. For more information, see CSS Profile's information on fee waivers.
If you are asked to provide credit card information before submitting your CSS Profile but your family size and income fall within the levels listed below, you may request a Yale-specific fee waiver code by completing Yale's CSS Profile fee waiver request form.
|Household size||Annual income (USD)|
|Any||Less than $65,000|
|3 or more||Less than $70,000|
|4 or more||Less than $75,000|
|5 or more||Less than $80,000|
|6 or more||Less than $85,000|
If you feel that the CSS Profile fee would constitute a significant financial burden on your family even though you did not qualify for automatic waiver and your family size and income fall outside the levels listed, please tell us about your situation using our Contact Us page.
If your family lives outside the United States and you feel that the CSS Profile fee would constitute a significant financial burden, you may request a Yale-specific fee waiver code by completing Yale's CSS Profile fee waiver request form.
