CSS Profile Fee Waiver Process

Yale's need-based financial aid policy, which meets the full demonstrated financial need of all students, ensures that a Yale education is affordable for everyone. Making fee waivers easy is one example of Yale's commitment to being accessible to students from all backgrounds.

U.S. citizens and permanent residents

College Board offers automatic CSS Profile fee waivers for U.S. applicants from families making up to $100,000 a year. Such fee waivers are available for both custodial and noncustodial parents. Students find out if they are eligible for CSS Profile fee waivers while completing the online Profile. For more information, see CSS Profile's information on fee waivers.

If you feel that the CSS Profile fee would constitute a significant financial burden for your family even though you did not qualify for an automatic fee waiver, you may request a Yale-specific fee waiver code by completing Yale's CSS Profile fee waiver request form.

International students

If your family lives outside the United States and you feel that the CSS Profile fee would constitute a significant financial burden, you may request a Yale-specific fee waiver code or an alternative means of submitting the Profile information by completing Yale's CSS Profile fee waiver request form.
